This holiday season, you can lease the Wong House by architects Buff and Hensman and enjoy views from Downtown to the ocean and skinny-dipping under a blanket of stars.
Buff and Hensman were architects who contributed to the collection of homes in the Case Study House Program. They designed Case Study House No. 28, located in Ventura, and (when the firm was known as Buff, Straub, and Hensman) designed Case Study House No. 20 in Altadena.
When this mid-century modern hit the market in 2010, then couple actors, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds, jumped at the opportunity to claim ownership. During their time in the home, Johansson and Reynolds set about making eco-friendly upgrades. Unfortunately, they split before they could claim many years of enjoying the home’s new features.
The home returned to the market in 2012 with a description boasting stunning unobstructed views from Downtown to the ocean and upgrades, including solar power.
The description continues by highlighting “Walls of glass from all public rooms to outside deck, flat grassy yard, and an oversized saltwater pool (with) a perfect indoor-outdoor flow for entertaining.”
Measuring 2,835 square feet, the home has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a living room, a den, a library, and a dining room. The primary suite has an enclosed, small garden and an outdoor bath.
The asking price is $15k per month. And with all the privacy and architectural details your modernist heart could dream of – your holiday season will start right in the Wong House.
